The Opportunity
As our Discipline Leader (Mech) / Principal Mechanical Engineer - Mining, you will be integral to lead and grow our mechanical technical discipline, ensuring profitability, timely delivery and client satisfaction. Assist in the development and implementation of the business plan and contribute to growing the Energy & Resources Business.
The Discipline Leader / Principal Mechanical Engineer also provides technical leadership to complex multi-disciplinary mining projects. guiding, supporting, mentoring engineers, designers, clients and stakeholders to deliver significant programs of work.
This role requires significant component of marketing and business development with external and internal clients. This position interacts throughout Stantec’s global organization internally and externally with clients and members of business and professional organisations.

To be successful in this role:
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering – Mechanical, qualification
- Minimum 15+ years of progressively responsible technical and management experience.
- Professional registration and commitment to gain appropriate Australian registration.
- Process, materials handling and mechanical equipment experience in wet and dry process plants along with the capability to use the relevant software to support that work
- Non-Process Infrastructure and renewable energies exposure
- Exceptional organisational, technical, leadership, written and oral communication skills, and
- You will have proven experience successfully delivery complex projects with major and minor mining companies in a variety of commodities, working with high performing teams.
