Your Opportunity

In this position you will have the opportunity to work our Industrial Water team as a process engineer intern for a 4 to 8 months term. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the project team to maintain a current and accurate understanding of project status, issues and changes.
  • Assisting technical staff with various project tasks including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, and performing calculations for water and wastewater treatment projects.
  • Provides support in the execution of design tasks for water and wastewater projects including treatment processes evaluation and process units sizing.
  • Provides support during the construction phases of water and wastewater projects.  Tasks will include inspections of specific assigned work and subsequent report on field observations.
  • Provides support to project management and team members to adhere to client standards, Stantec required procedures, and document management.
  • With guidance, assists with the preparation of high quality, accurate and timely documents such as: reports, minutes, submittals and comments tracking, as well as other required documentation.
  • With guidance, coordinate, organize, schedule, and facilitate meetings and workshops.  
  • Records, composes, and distributes meeting minutes.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments.
  • Good written and verbal communications.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, and resourceful.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to successfully work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Experience with MS Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.

 

Education and Experience

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Engineering, preferably in chemical engineering. 

 

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.  It is expected that the successful candidate will be present in the office three to four days a week, with the rest of the days being fully remotely accessible to the process team.
