Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Excellent organizational and communication (written and oral) skills are critical for this role
- Genuine team player who will encourage teamwork with the project team and with other discipline staff
- Strong ability to mentor junior project managers, project engineers, and project team staff
- Demonstrable experience in project controls and scheduling is considered essential for this role
- Ability to apply strong technical and problem-solving skills to pro-actively make decisions on project and design related issues
- High degree of familiarity in contract/rate negotiations and reviews
- Responsible for multiple projects, and be able to carry out multiple tasks within each project
- Ability to challenge specifications and non-optimal designs and provide value added alternatives
- Knowledge of project management principles and processes
- Working knowledge of applicable industry, national, and provincial codes, and standards
Experience and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or technical school diploma/certification, with a minimum of 10 years of experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer or Professional Licensee with APEGA is required
- Preference for experience leading and executing SAGD/In-Situ and energy transition related projects; including bio-industrial, carbon capture, and hydrogen is considered a major asset for this opportunity. Traditional conventional oil and gas and compression projects are still considered an asset for this position
- Experience in coordinating/leading project proposal responses
- Project Management Certification (PMP) certification is considered an asset
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Familiarity with MS Teams for virtual meetings / presentations is preferred.
