About the role

Our Transport team are looking for a Project Manager to join us in Hamilton. You will play a key role delivering a diverse range of transport projects across highways, local roads, and infrastructure upgrades, helping connect communities and support regional growth.

  

As a Project Manager, you will be accountable for the successful end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring outcomes meet client expectations while balancing scope, budget, schedule, and quality. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients, combining strong leadership, commercial acumen, and technical understanding to drive project success.

  

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Leading project planning, set-up, and execution, including resourcing, financials, quality, and risk management

  • Managing delivery to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with client requirements

  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring consistent communication and high levels of satisfaction

  • Supporting business development by contributing to proposals, pursuits, and client engagement activities

  • Coordinating teams, consultants, and subcontractors to deliver high-performing project outcomes

  • Monitoring project performance, including financial tracking, reporting, invoicing, and risk mitigation

  • Promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring all HSSE requirements are met across projects.

  • Leading and mentoring team members to foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.

  

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related discipline with at least 5+ years’ relevant experience

  • Proven experience managing projects within a consulting or infrastructure environment

  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and delivery frameworks

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills

  • Well-developed problem-solving and negotiation capabilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes

  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project) and systems

  • A project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or working towards one is beneficial
