Pursuit Lead – Capture and Proposal Management
About the role
As a Pursuit Lead, you will join a select group of specialists within Stantec’s pursuit community who lead the capture and proposal response for our most important opportunities. Based in Melbourne, you will report to and work closely with an experienced pursuit leader with international expertise and active involvement in the profession - giving you access to informed guidance, constructive challenge and contemporary industry practice. You will also collaborate with business leaders, technical specialists and client development teams across Australia to shape clear capture strategies, compelling win themes and competitive proposal responses from early positioning through to submission.
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract suited to someone who enjoys a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can confidently manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Lead capture and proposal activities for complex, high-priority pursuits from early positioning through to submission.
Develop capture plans covering client priorities, stakeholder mapping, competitor analysis, value propositions and win strategies.
Facilitate strategy sessions and workshops to align stakeholders on the solution, messaging and path to win.
Review RFP requirements and translate capture strategies into clear, compelling and compliant proposal responses.
Develop proposal plans, compliance matrices, storyboards, response structures and content priorities.
Create and review executive summaries and key proposal content, ensuring a consistent voice and strong client focus.
Select and position key personnel, project experience and supporting evidence to strengthen competitiveness.
Coordinate inputs from business leaders, technical teams, Business Development, Marketing, design teams and external partners.
Lead structured reviews, manage pursuit risks and resolve issues relating to strategy, content quality or delivery.
Apply structured capture and proposal methodologies, using lessons learned to continuously improve pursuit outcomes.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Post-secondary qualification in business, engineering, communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Demonstrates capability aligned to APMP Practitioner (CP.APMP) level; preferred but not essential.
Experience working across Business Development, Market Intelligence, Marketing & Communications, VDC, and external partners.
Demonstrated experience leading capture and proposal activities for complex pursuits in consulting, professional services, or similar environments.
Proven ability to develop capture strategies and translate them into proposal delivery.
