Your Capabilities and Credentials:
- A self-starter, able to resolve engineering design issues and develop project scope documents, technical reports, cost estimates and project proposals.
- Participates and collaborates in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
- Thorough understanding of design standards and codes for electrical power systems.
- Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable energy codes.
- Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications an asset.
- Record of successfully delivering projects on-time and on-budget, while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Checks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule.
- Substation experience is an asset
- A strong willingness to learn is crucial
- Experience with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD is a requirement
Education and experience:
- Licensed Electrical Engineer with of 5 years’ experience minimum
- Electrical photovoltaic systems experience is required
- Prior experience in consulting for an owner or EPC contactor
- AC and/or DC Short Circuit/Arc Flash Analysis
- Knowledge of construction costing and estimations an asset
- Protection and Controls Experience would be an asset
- Wind and/or Battery Storage experience would be an asset
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
