Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a Resource Equipment Specialist who is responsible for repair and maintenance of all vehicles and equipment utilized for ecological restoration services in the Chicagoland area. Provide service to keep all equipment operational, including, but not limited to, preventative maintenance of equipment and mechanical support in response to changes resulting from breakdown, and malfunction. This position is part-time up to a 40-hour week.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Assist and support all aspects of field operations including performing inspections and routine preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities
- Assist in sourcing and procuring equipment, equipment parts and supplies
- Maintain inventory of equipment while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the warehouse
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for services, maintenance and repairs to equipment.
- Inspect, diagnose, disassemble, repair/replace equipment issues and repair or replace parts accordingly
- Perform emergency equipment/facility repairs
- Log all repairs and maintain documentation of repairs completed
- Maintain all equipment including but not limited to, tractors, skid steer, UTV, seeders, chainsaws, brush cutters, and augers
- Administrative and other duties as assigned
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Communicate fluently and effectively, follow verbal and written instructions
- Basic math and measurements skills
- Follow diagrams, operation manuals and instructions for troubleshooting
- Ability and willingness to perform physical requirements of the job
- Ability to work independently to make decisions with minimal supervision
- Experience hauling trailers and equipment such as tractors, skid steers, and UTVs
- Excellent customer service skills

- Flexibility to learn new skills
- Ability to lift 40-50 lbs
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Equipment and vehicle maintenance, general fabrication/welding experience preferred
- DOT Medical Card or ability to get a DOT Medical Card to drive fleet vehicles and haul trailers as needed
- Work Location
- Primary location will be split between our Naperville and Monee shop locations. It is anticipated that this candidate will spend 1-2 days per week at each location based on resource needs.
