Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Experience in running and reviewing frequent title reports and able to communicate unusual findings
- Familiarity with the provisions of the VDOT Right of Way Manual as it applies to the acquisition of property
- Understanding of underwriting guidelines to determine condition of title
- Familiar with foreclosure documents, liens, tax statements, and chain of title issues, and in-house easement documents creation
- Experience with county GIS systems, county property tax websites, county on-line records systems and Google Earth
- Computer skills including MS Office Suite and Google Suite
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Critical attention to detail
- Able to communicate and solve high value problems with a sense of urgency.
Education and Experience
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 1+ year of experience within ROW/Title Research
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex engineering drawings, land survey documents, and right of way maps.
50% of your time is spent traveling.
English language proficient
Valid Driver’s License
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work. Employee may drive on company business to deliver plans or documents to reviewing agencies or clients or to attend meetings. Occasionally visits construction sites or works in outside weather conditions.
