- Extensive experience with back end development (Python, SQL, Flask or Django API, Node.JS)
- Extensive experience with front end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and one or more frameworks React, Vue, Angular), Python GUI development (PyQt, Tkinter, wxPython, and/or PySide), and Command Line Interfaces
- Experience developing Excel-based tools using VBA and Excel Userforms, or a desire to learn
- Experience with version control tools such as Git and GitHub
- Demonstrated ability to write high-quality, production-ready code (readable, well-tested, well-documented, with well-designed APIs)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
- Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License
- Prior to employment with Stantec, this position will require the successful passing of a drug & alcohol screen
Preferred:
- Experience with containerized application deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud ecosystem
- Knowledge of data science and machine learning methods and models (clustering, classification algorithms, neural networks, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets using Python and SQL for data mining and machine learning.
- Knowledge of quantitative risk analysis and related disciplines (e.g., reliability, asset integrity)
- Experience in oil and gas pipeline operating company
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or another technical field, Master’s Degree preferred
