Stantec’s North Carolina transportation practice is looking for an experienced Roadway Design Engineer to join our Raleigh team. Your Key Responsibilities
Get the chance to work on a variety of transportation improvement projects with Stantec’s structural engineers, traffic engineers, roadway engineers, transportation planners and environmental scientists. You will be part of a experienced roadway team designing and delivering a range of transportation projects, including roundabouts, intersection improvements, bridge and interchange designs, in addition to bike/ped facilities and greenway/trail designs.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Assist in the development of design plans for transportation projects.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with a team of designers to successfully deliver projects. Learn from senior project engineers or project managers.
- Experience Performing work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment.
- Experience Performing engineering calculations, interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications, and assist with proposal preparation.
- Ability to Support the coordinate work coordinate with of multiple engineering disciplines, as well as drafting/CADD work for the project.
- Support the preparation of progress reports and may supervise small projects.
- Proficiency with Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads
- Good communication skills, multi-tasking, attentiveness to detail.
- Willingness to learn new skills and interface with multiple project managers.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of science degree in Civil Engineering. A minimum of 4 years of experience in transportation infrastructure projects is preferred. EIT or EI certificate is required with ability to obtain PE license within one (1) year.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require out of office meetings/travel. Work from home (2) days a week and (3) days in the office, as a minimum.
