Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists with Stantec for aRoadoworks Construction Inspector. We are seeking a highly-motivated person who will provide inspection services, including quality management, record documentation, and ensure compliance with drawings, standards, and specifications.
The position's qualifications include the ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with strong presentation skills; strong project/program management expertise; understanding of infrastructure construction and the ability to perform a variety of tasks which may include assisting with the plans and designs of roads and structures, monitor site activitie and, verify on-site materials testing. Work will primarily be within the District of Saanich.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Undertake daily construction site inspection services including listing of daily construction tasks, equipment on site, completing photographic records and the like.
- Inspect typical road construction activities like storm sewer drainage, concrete works, granular pavement construction and asphalt paving.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management processes .
- Assist in liaising with other consultants, other Ministries and Municipalities, individuals, and outside agencies
- Arrange, facilitate, and document project team meetings
- Manage construction schedule and budgets
- Serve as the assistant client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Must have current experience in inspection/ supervision of road or other construction projects.
- Experience with Quality Control / Quality Assurance Program implementation.
- Experience with Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD) is considered an asset.
- 3 year’s experience preferred, but recent graduates also encouraged to apply.
- Engineering graduates preferred, but technical school graduates also encouraged to apply.
- Strong client interaction and relationship skills.
Education and Experience
- Diploma of Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
