About the role

To provide civil engineering technical expertise and knowledge to contribute to the successful delivery of tender/contract documentation, procurement/tendering, construction contract management, and monitoring, surveillance, and quality assurance (MSQA) activities for our client’s capital projects.

This opportunity offers you the chance to work on rewarding projects and use your technical know-how together with your investigation, analytical and construction management skills to deliver excellent service to our key and emerging clients in New Zealand.

 

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Managing construction contracts, including acting as Engineer’s Representative or Principal’s Representative

  • Supporting procurement processes including tender preparation and evaluation

  • Undertaking constructability reviews of designs, specifications, and drawings

  • Monitoring project financials, tracking progress, and reporting on performance

  • Building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes

  • Managing project documentation and maintaining accurate records in line with client and quality requirements

  • Coordinating with local authorities, community stakeholders, and project teams to minimise disruption during construction

  • Providing guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and team members to support capability development

  

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Relevant technical qualification e.g. BEng. NZCE, BEngTech, Dip Eng.

  • Minimum 7 years’ relevant professional experience in contracts engineering and/ or contract management

  • Demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure or transport projects

  • Strong investigation, analytical and report writing skills.

  • Able to build trust and provide support to peers and clients.

  • Experience in both the public and private sectors.

  • Have a strong interest in professional development and building a challenging career in transport engineering.
