Your Opportunity
Our Fredericton Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) group is looking for a team-oriented and driven individual to join our team. In this position as a full-time Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be leading engineering and technical design teams. The individual must be an excellent communicator and skilled problem-solver with a strong attention to detail and teamwork. Your Key Responsibilities
- Work with clients to solve their problems by assembling and leading project teams. Build the plan, lead the team, change manage along the way, and assure a quality outcome.
- Apply design skills to prepare or coordinate the preparation of contract drawings, specifications, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
- Collaborate with EI&C group members, other Stantec disciplines, and clients to achieve project success, acting as a project team member or a project leader.
- Successfully carry out assignments on project design teams.
- Assist with field surveys for drawing developments, site reviews and as recorded drawings.
- Effectively communicate with other team members in the department or project team.
- Manage and lead electrical aspects of projects.
- Provide technical expertise, mentoring and support to team members.
- Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
- Develops project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- At least 10 years’ experience in the industrial consulting industry or in an industrial environment.
- Must be self-motivated, team oriented, efficient, and a good communicator.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership skills, with proven ability to lead project teams and activities.
- Strong collaborative skills while working with a single or multi-discipline team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to follow Stantec's quality control guidelines.
- Understanding the importance of complying with Stantec's Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) program, with a focus on safety in the field.
- Desire to be mentored by Senior staff and to adapt to feedback as required. Desire to help mentor and coach others and contribute to strengthening the competency and culture of a broader team.
Education and Experience
- An Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
- Eligibility for registration as a professional engineer in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience is required.
- Experience in electrical, instrumentation, and controls design for industrial environments (wood products, pulp & paper, food, power generation/distribution, oil & gas, mining) would be an asset.
- Experience creating tender document packages, including detailed drawings and specifications would be considered an asset.
- Professional Engineer status with any US state licensure board is considered an asset.
Successful candidate will primarily work in a flexible office environment. Some field work and extended travel may be required.
