About the Opportunity

Our Perth team is seeking a Senior Energy Engineer/Consultant to join us on a permanent basis and play a key role in delivering innovative energy and renewable projects across Australia.

Reporting to the Energy Team Leader, you will be part of a nationally connected Energy team working on landmark Energy Transition projects. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about shaping a more sustainable future through the delivery of commercial and utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, battery storage and emerging energy technologies.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced professional with at least six years of experience across renewable energy, building energy systems, and energy market-related projects who is looking to take ownership of project delivery while contributing to the growth of our expanding energy offering.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Lead the electrical design of renewable energy projects, including solar PV, wind and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Develop detailed designs for high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) systems, including protection schemes, switchgear and transformer specifications.
  • Prepare and review single-line diagrams, schematics and layout drawings.
  • Undertake system modelling, load flow studies, fault level analysis and protection coordination studies.
  • Perform detailed modelling and assessment of solar PV, battery storage and microgrid systems.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams from concept through to commissioning.
  • Liaise with DNSPs, regulators and key stakeholders to achieve grid compliance and project approvals.
  • Prepare and present technical and commercial reports to clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development.
  • Build strong client relationships and present engineering solutions with confidence and professionalism.

 

About You

You are a technically strong and commercially minded energy professional with proven experience delivering renewable energy and power systems projects. You enjoy working collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary teams and are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to Australia's energy transition.

You will bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a major in Power Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering renewable energy projects, including solar PV, BESS, microgrids or distributed energy resources (DER).
  • Experience in substation design and medium-voltage (MV) modelling.
  • Proficiency with industry software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, CDEGS, Excel and MS Project.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3000, 2067, 4777 and 5033.
  • Experience navigating DNSP requirements, technical rules and grid connection processes for inverter-based energy systems.
  • An understanding of power system studies, including system strength, inertia and stability assessments.
  • Excellent consulting, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance technical excellence, risk management and project outcomes.
  • A collaborative mindset, attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • The ability to mentor others, manage competing priorities and contribute positively to team culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
