Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Ability to lead technical teams and collaborate in a project team setting and interact with clients daily.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to understand project and team roles and scheduling, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources.
- Understanding client expectations, budgeting, proposal writing, and producing high-quality deliverables
- Strong understanding and technical ability in producing and leading teams through all phases of a design project (proposal, calculations, construction drawings, and final reports)
- An understanding of state and federal regulations and the ability to adapt to client-specific requirements.
- Efficient project management/technical leadership of assigned tasks on multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage two or three direct team members.
- Excellent team-building skills and a willingness to work on multiple teams/disciplines with varying backgrounds.
- Strong knowledge of civil and geotechnical systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Ability to interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and other similar materials.
- Basic experience in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with (but not required) AutoCAD Civil3D, Geostudio Software Suite, Plaxis, ENSOFT LPILE, FB Deep/MultiPier, DigiPro II, and gINT.
- Provide support in permitting process of projects, if needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or Geotechnical Engineering. Master preferred.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in at least one jurisdiction with the ability to obtain reciprocity in other states.
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience
- Preferred USACE, SFWMD, DOT, and/or CCR experience
- Travel/ client site, 10% to 20% of the time for project meetings
Flexible office and field arrangements depending on project activities. Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods. Fieldwork may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
