Senior Hydrogeologist

Due to this growth, we have an opportunity available for an experienced Senior Hydrogeologist to join our Environment & Geosciences team. This position is located in Brisbane but can be based in our offices in Melbourne, Sydney or Perth.
You will work on diverse and impactful projects and play a key role in groundwater investigations, resource assessments and sustainable water management for our clients across Australia.
Day to day tasks would involve:
· Follow safe work practices, adhering to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
· Perform field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater sampling; and water level monitoring.
· Develop conceptual, analytical, and numerical groundwater flow and contaminant transport models.
· Develop new well designs for groundwater monitoring and groundwater production.
· Interpret aquifer tests, characterize aquifers based on maps and other spatial data, and perform spatial analysis using GIS tools.
· Provide hydrogeologic data analysis and conceptualisation support for mining, contaminated land, and water resource projects.
· Prepare high-quality technical reports and communicate findings to clients and stakeholders.
· Coaching and mentoring of junior staff on field techniques, data analysis and reporting.
· Business development through proposal writing and contributions to the hydrogeology business strategy.
· Develop and maintain strong client relationships through the delivery of high-quality work and identifying new opportunities for collaboration.
To be successful for this role you’ll need:
· Tertiary qualifications (B.Sc.) in Hydrogeology, Environmental Science/Engineering, Geology, or related discipline. M.Sc. qualifications preferred but not required.
· Relevant experience in groundwater studies, preferably within a consulting environment.
· Strong knowledge of hydrogeology, groundwater systems, water chemistry and regulatory frameworks.
· Proficiency in groundwater flow and contaminant transport modelling.
· Excellent communication, problem solving, and project management skills.
· Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
