Your Key Responsibilities
- Assists with monitoring and calculation of production rates
- Assists with monitoring compliance with and administering terms of operational constraints of the contract
- Provides a leading role in monitoring compliance to commitments of and administering construction contract provisions regarding the Contractor's Quality Control Performance Measures
- Checks and inspects construction activities, operations, and work to ensure compliance with the contract documents, drawings, and specifications
- Conducts site surveys, confirms scope of work, obtains relevant information, equipment, and materials, and maintains quality and payment records in a daily diary for the work completed
- Compiles field/test data in a report form for review by the Contract Administrator
- Liaise / Coordinate with service providers for specialized inspections and/or testing to ensure the tasks are completed under the terms of reference, specifications, or agreement
- Obtain video / photographic records as required
- Record, review, and address contractor questions and clarifications by reporting to the Contract Administrator for resolution if not already provided to the contractor
- Attend site meetings and reconnaissance on site
- Able to handle multiple priorities without losing focus
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Familiar with field construction activities
- Able to work on weekends, nights, shift work, additional hours as required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Previous office administration experience working in a construction office setting an asset
- A valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle
- Able to travel and work in the greater Ottawa and surrounding area
Education and Experience
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology / Technician or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years experience in engineering/construction working on MTO projects
- Either registration as a Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T. or Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with PEO
- Designation as determined by OACETT as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (RCSI) or Road Construction Contract Administration (RCCA)
