The opportunity
We are seeking an Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our high performing team. We are looking for a highly qualified candidate with experience across all project sizes from low rise to high rise building projects. We are involved in a broad range of project types that include data centres, health, laboratories, industrial, education and infrastructure.
The successful candidate would get exposure to projects throughout the country with a main focus on the southern region and would be based in our Queenstown office. We have a strong and growing workload with current projects including civic, hotels, retail, health care, aged care, sports and airports.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Management of current and future workloads for the Queenstown Lakes region, in conjunction with the Christchurch office.
Oversee and manage the design process, maintaining alignment with project guidelines.
Key point of contact for all client relationships, being actively engaged, understanding client requirements and offering strategic design solutions.
Design, documentation and contract administration, liaison with client and consultant team, liaison with authorities, reporting, and quality audits.
Assist and contribute to the discipline leadership teams in developing Stantec engineering systems.
Adhere to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures.
Actively contribute to our company culture
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Previous experience in a Consulting environment within the Building services industry
Knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and relevant Australian and New Zealand Standards
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, and ideally a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in the engineering industry or consulting.
Willingness to establish and maintain strong client relationships to formulate repeat opportunities
Ability to multitask between multiple projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working towards being a Chartered Professional Engineer (or equivalent) and/or Producer Statement Author would be favourable, but not essential.
