Our Water Division is experiencing significant growth, presenting the opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in Sydney. This position is crucial for providing technical expertise and lead engineering teams to develop and deliver the most appropriate solutions for key water and wastewater projects.
This is a full-time 12 month fixed-term contract with view to permanency.
A day in the life of a Senior Mechanical Engineer looks like:
· Undertake a range of duties in carrying out and/or managing engineering designs and projects to provide high level technical service to clients.
· Manage all facets of mechanical engineering, determine client requirements, produce calculations, specifications and drawings to ensure technical designs solutions meet expectations.
· Provide technical expertise in mechanical engineering to meet project need.
· Working closely with project managers and/or design managers service project needs through planning coordination, undertaking peer review and deliver the agreed outputs on budget on time and to quality standards.
· Lead and manage proposal development including preparing value propositions, methodologies, fee estimates, risk reviews etc.
· Organise and support the development of tender documents, evaluate tenders and contracts
· Supervise and mentor junior staff.
To be successful for this role you'll present:
· Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field along with CPEng (or ability to obtain).
· A minimum of 4 to 8 years mechanical/infrastructure engineering experience in detail and concept design.
· Exceptional leadership abilities including managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
· Advanced knowledge of clean water and wastewater services and the delivery environment.
· Highly developed problem solving and negotiation skills to resolve disputes.
· Strong understanding of D&C or alternative delivery projects and or program models.
