Senior Project Manager – Hamilton

Description - External

Salary $130 - $150K + Benefits

Full time role - 40 hours per week

Based in Hamilton, Waikato NZ

We care about the communities we serve because they're our communities too. We're designers, engineers, scientists, and project managers, innovating together at the intersection of community, creativity, and client relationships. Balancing these priorities results in projects that advance the quality of life in communities across the globe.

At Stantec, we always design with community in mind. Communities are fundamental. Whether around the corner or across the globe, they provide a foundation, a sense of place and of belonging. Stantec is one of the few Engineering Consultancies in New Zealand with in-house expertise in all disciplines required for water resource management.

We can provide a comprehensive array of services encompassing innovative conceptual planning, investigations and feasibility studies, environmental planning, financial, economic and energy modelling, risk assessment, design, procurement, asset management, refurbishment and enhancement. In addition to providing traditional engineering, design, and construction management services, we have experience with complex design-builds, alliancing, programme management, information technology, asset management and business consulting.

The Opportunity

Due to projects wins in our Buildings and Community Development groups, a great opportunity for an experienced Principal Project Manager with 10+ year’s consultancy experience based in our Hamilton Kirikiriroa office has arisen.

In this role you will work closely with our senior team of experienced engineers and project managers to continue our excellent project delivery track record. You will have proven experience successfully delivering complex projects, working within high performing teams and contributing to the financial success of a business. Excellent organisation and time management skills are a given, along with a high level of financial competency, and an ability to prioritise tasks and multi-task to ensure deadlines are achieved. You will also have the ability to assist with bids & proposals to ensure we can effectively deliver what we promise.  Fostering team performance and being an effective and efficient communicator will be essential to your success in this role. You will have ideally achieved Project Management qualifications or working towards the attainment of a recognised qualification, have the ability to manage multiple large scale projects and programme management.

We see Design & Construction Delivery, Asset Management and Strategy & Planning in the sector as key to the success of our business going forward and require whoever steps into this role to be comfortable providing strategic business and infrastructure advice to ensure that we are well positioned for upcoming opportunities as a result of governmental and technological reform.

This can be achieved by providing connectivity with our international service offerings and linking this to the needs of our key clients. Key aspects of the role include programme delivery, developing client relationships; client service management; supporting and mentoring staff; and helping deploy the use of resources to bid and deliver projects.
