Your Opportunity

We have an opportunity for an experienced civil engineer who is interested in taking their career to the next level. The Senior Project Manager position offers opportunities to utilize your professional competence, business acumen, and team leadership to help grow a Hawaii based team for successfully delivering exciting and diverse community development projects. Emphasizing sustainability, resiliency, and community, this role will impact and contribute to the growth of our Community Development Group in Honolulu, Hawaii, and the regional area. You will play an important role in fostering and promoting stakeholder relationships, as well as providing technical guidance, team development, and supporting new business opportunities.

Our team supports a wide range of clients in both the private and public sectors by designing a wide variety of projects which includes healthcare facilities, federal facilities, municipal infrastructure, hospitality, industrial, commercial, retail, and master planned communities.  We are seeking talented and motivated team members to lead new project opportunities in our pipeline. 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects. Develop proposals and manage scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Assist in developing new work opportunities and building client relationships.
  • Expand our service offerings to new clients and / or internal partners.
  • Lead the design team on civil engineering related services.
  • Day-to-day project oversight and communication with the client and project team.
  • Develop, track, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project.
  • Prepare project status reports on a regular basis.
  • Review and approval all invoices and change orders associated with the project.
  • Responsible for the overall project performance. Primary point of contract and representative to internal partners and clients.
  • Build and mentor a team under your direct supervision.
  • Implement and adhere to PM Frameworks and perform quality control and assurance to maintain ISO certifications.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong understanding of Civil Engineering and Land Surveying Service offerings.
  • Strong understanding of design and construction permitting / approval process and requirements.  Local experience with Hawaiian agencies strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong mentoring skills, and a natural team leader.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous project management experience required.
  • Possess a valid Hawaiian driver’s license and good driving record. 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Civil Engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Hawaii

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
