Your Key Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and advising the client on the approved scope, budget, and schedule on a large, ongoing waterfront construction project
  • Maintaining a full-time onsite presence.
  • Analyzing change requests for validity, scope, cost, schedule, necessity, then making recommendations to the NAVFAC client.
  • Providing risk analysis to the Federal Client.
  • Providing strong, consistent coordination between project stakeholders (NAVFAC, AE, Contractor, etc.) to maintain scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Embracing Stantec’s internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, and quality management.
  • Maintaining and enhancing our relationship with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals by providing exceptional service.
  • Providing mentoring and training for future leaders to support their career growth.
  • Promoting collaboration and teamwork across the project.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • 4 year Bachelor of Science in engineering, construction management, business or related field
  • 5-15 years managing DoD projects of $20-$100M in size
  • Ability to make sound defensible business decisions, and identify, assess, evaluate, and solve complex problems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for team building and collaboration.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or related technical discipline. 
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years’ relevant professional experience, with at least 5 years of experience managing and/or coordinating construction projects.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or ability to achieve within 1 year of hire is preferred.
