Your Capabilities and Credentials

• CSI's Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) preferred, Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) an asset
• Familiarity with CSI's MasterFormat, UniFormat, Section and Page Formats, administrative forms, and with one or more versions of CSI's project delivery/practice guides
• Strong familiarity with SpecLink and with AIA MasterSpec masters preferred.  Familiarity with BSD SpecLink, UFGS, and other specification masters a plus
• Familiarity with AIA's Contract Documents, particularly A201 General Conditions of the Contract for Construction
• Architectural Registration preferred
• Strong computer skills with an emphasis on SpecLink, e-SPECS Linx, MS Word and Excel, Bluebeam, and FTP programs.  Familiarity with e-SPECS Designer, MasterWorks, SpecsIntact, and BSD Speclink a plus
• Excellent interpersonal skills, working with others in a team setting, communicating directly with Owner and Contractor and working on multiple projects at the same time
• Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate or Accredited Professional credentials an asset
• Extensive knowledge of ICC, NFPA, ASTM, UL, Intertek, FM codes and standards; other industry standards typically specified by reference (AAMA, AWS/AWI/WI, GANA, SDI, NAAMM, NFRC, TCNA to name a few); and building/site structures, systems, assemblies, materials, and products preferred.

Education and Experience

• Post-Secondary Education with emphasis given to degrees in Architecture and related fields
• Previous experience in building construction settings, including but not limited to architecture firms specializing in Commercial, Multi-Family, Hospitality, Institutional, and Public Works
• 6 + years of experience editing/writing architectural construction specifications
• 12 + years of experience in the Architecture industry

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
