Senior Structural Engineer
Stantec Buildings Team are seeking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer in our Perth office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on some iconic and landmark building projects across Western Australia as well as some national projects. Recent examples of such projects include ECU City Campus, the Civic Heart residential development in South Perth and the WACA Redevelopment. You will service projects for multiple clients, ranging from small building structures through to large complex projects, where you will be a key member of the delivery team.
Recently we have won further work in the Perth City Link area, which is one of the most transformative urban redevelopment projects in Western Australia, reconnecting the CBD with Northbridge for the first time in over a century. Having already successfully delivered the ECU City Campus, our most recent project wins will further add to our portfolio of high profile projects in this area and the CBD generally.
We operate across all building types and sectors, including health, education, sports and leisure, multi-residential, retail and commercial buildings. The role will enable you to thrive in a firm that boasts global expertise but with extensive local history, knowledge and presence.
Day to day tasks would involve:
- Manage and deliver structural building projects.
- Liaise with the internal multidisciplinary team, external architects, clients, and contractors.
- Prepare sketches and calculations in support of design concepts.
- Execute project design, detailed calculations, documentation, and contract administration.
- Attend internal and external project design meetings.
- Undertake site inspections and reports.
- Undertake project QA in accordance with our procedures.
- Mentor Junior staff members who would be at a Graduate level
- Contribute to the development of the Structural team, be an ambassador to our brand and to our company culture.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering
- Demonstrated structural design experience of Buildings, ideally in engineering consultancy.
- Thorough knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards
- Structural software knowledge of RAM Concept, SpaceGass and ETABS (essential)
- Knowledge of building stability analysis and corresponding detailing
- Knowledge and capability across post-tensioned and reinforced concrete, steel and masonry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving mindset with strong interpersonal skills
