Senior Transportation Modeler

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Understanding of fundamentals of travel demand modeling including advanced practices.
• Experience with model development, calibration and validation.
• Experience with travel demand modeling tools like Cube, TransCAD, EMME, Aimsun, including cross-platform data manipulation techniques, will be strongly preferred.
• Ability to use large passive travel data (LBS) to understand and model travel behavior
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to interpret technical findings and share them with non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with programming languages (such as R and Python).
• Experience with geographic data analysis using GIS.
• Ability to assist with proposal development and project management.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), strong presentation skills, especially to clients and peers.
• Ability to work on multiple assignments concurrently.
• Ability to mentor and delegate tasks to junior engineers.
• Strong familiarity with standard business software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, City and Regional Planning, Operations Research, or related discipline
• A Ph.D. degree is preferred
• Minimum 15 years’ work experience in transportation engineering, modeling or planning and/or project management
