Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • General understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and any other relevant design software.
  • Knowledge of calculations performed by software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
  • Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
  • Takes initiative on tasks and coordinates with other members of the design team.
  • Working knowledge of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions and developing jurisdictional experience and contacts.
  • Developing ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate concepts and ideas to others.
  • Ability to create and interpret sketches, drawings, and various structures.
  • Willingness to perform field work including close-up inspections from lifts and bucket trucks.
  • Attention to detail with focus on accuracy and thoroughness in inspections and reporting.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering or related field and working toward licensure.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the structural engineering with portion focused on inspections and assessments. Experience with design of transportation structures is a plus.

Position will require a mix of field work and office work.
