Structural Engineer

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting to engage in the creative and critical thought process
• Thorough understanding of structural engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others
• Understanding of all phases of engineering document production and its relationship between drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of building structural systems, contractor means and methods, materials, and industry standards
• Ability to develop structural design of gravity and lateral force resisting systems
• Knowledge and application of building codes, structural design standards
• Strong grasp on comprehensive building analysis using software such as: RAM Structural System, SAP2000, SAFE, and ETABS.
• Strong grasp in using Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD/Revit; experience with Newforma is a plus
• Recognize technical issues and communication or initiating appropriate corrective actions
• Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering
• Registered P. Eng. in a Canadian Province and/or PE in the US
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
