Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Basic understanding of building structural engineering and concepts, with relation to steel, concrete, masonry, and timber design.
  • Ability to investigate and learn structural concepts, topics, designs, and computer programs as a self-starter. 
  • Basic understanding of Revit (or Autocad), and the use of it as a drafting/design tool 
  • Participate and collaborate in a project team setting.
  • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building program, and other similar material. 
  • Satisfactory oral and written communication skills.
  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit; Prefer experience with Structural Component Design Software, Comprehensive Building Analysis Software such as Enercalc and Tedds, and Structure Finite Element Analysis such as Tekla, RAM concept, Risa 3D, and SAFE.
  • Valid driver’s license. 

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Co-op / internship experience preferred. 
  • Registered (or eligible) EIT. 

 

Typical office environment working with computers and sitting at a desk. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
