Your Key Responsibilities 

The role of a Structural EIT is to work independently on smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer. The Structural EIT will be able to perform structural analysis, design and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Complete calculations and drawings for small projects under Senior Engineer’s guidance
  • Works with and coordinates with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines
  • Perform Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders
  • Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and owner clients.
  • Have an understanding of industry standard design processes and understanding of construction means and methods
  • Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service
  • Assist with development of design standards

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
  • Basic understanding of Revit, and the use of it as a drafting/design tool
  • Thorough understanding of structural engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others
  • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material
  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit; Component Design Software such as Enercalc; Finite Element Analysis Software such as RISA and SAP
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record

Education and Experience

No years of experience required, 1 to 3 years of related experience preferred 
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required, Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering is preferred

NCEES EIT is required
Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of architects, engineers,
and owner clients effectively.

Basic knowledge and understanding of structural building codes and requirements
Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit)
Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite)
Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.)
