Structural Engineer - EIT
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Experience and software literacy with structural design software.
- Knowledge of all relevant codes and standards (National Building Code of Canada, Ontario Building Code, A23.3 Design of Concrete Structures and CSA S16 – Limit States Design of Steel Structures.
- Experience with engineering software applications as SAP, ETABS and SAFE;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written in English;
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects;
- Demonstrated skill with MS Office is a requirement;
- Work experience in design of reinforced concrete, structural steel and masonry structures is considered an asset
- Experience in construction inspection is considered an asset
- Interest in developing technical and/or project management specialization in a consulting environment is considered an asset
- Experience in producing aspects of structural design and drawings in AutoCAD, Revit or other BIM tools is considered an asset
- A valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to your own vehicle are required for this position.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a background in structural design, from an accredited university; and
- Ability to be registered with PEO as a P.Eng (progressing to P.Eng. designation).
Typical office environment working with computers and sitting at a desk. Field work will be required and may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Our group operates under a hybrid work strategy with work expectations being a combination of work from home and in-office support (3-days per week in office).
