As the ideal candidate, you have:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and team centered focus.
- Enthusiastic, self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently.
- Enthusiastic to expand structural engineering knowledge and keen to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency in SAP 2000, STAAD Pro, and/or RISA-3D.
- Proficiency and experience with PLS-CADD, Transmission and Distribution design, and/or Electrical Substation structural design is a strong asset.
- Experience in Heavy Industrial or the construction industry is an asset.
- Knowledge of solids modeling and FEA (Inventor, SolidWorks, ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.) is an asset.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and other Stantec offices is an asset.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural.
- A Master's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural is preferred.
- 0 to 8 years of engineering experience in heavy industry.
- Registered EIT or PE in at least one US state.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
