Your Opportunity
Our Transportation group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of airports and aviation, bridge, rail, roadway, and transit projects. Your Key Responsibilities
As a Transportation Engineering Intern, you will be involved in plans production and design of highways and local municipal roads. You will be responsible for assisting project managers, project engineers and senior designers in the following areas:
- Perform field surveys as a member of Stantec field crews, including control, topo, drainage, and utility surveys.
- Performing roadside safety design, traffic staging and roadway drainage design
- Process Field notes and field data in Microstation/ORD/OBM
- Preparing Survey reports
Your Capabilities and Credentials
This position is intended for engineering students of an accredited Civil Engineering program with an emphasis on Transportation Engineering. Preferred candidates will also have the following additional skills:
- Courses related to structural engineering, roadway geometrics. Engineering Mechanics, Concrete Design, Steel Design, Timber Design, Prestressed Concrete Design. Familiarity with highway and roadway design related software such as MicroStation/OBM/ORD
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
