Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Thorough understanding of National Tunnel Inspection Standards (NTIS) and the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) all supporting documentation and practices
- Supervise professional staff including technicians, engineers, inspectors, and other personnel as assigned
- Ability to serve as a qualifying team leader for tunnel inspections per NTIS and lead teams in the field
- Ability to lead and participate in the development of thorough technical reports
- Ability to assist in evaluating geologic conditions and mapping per industry standards
- Excellent writing, organizational, analytical, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate ideas, design issues, and solutions to clients
- Ability to create and interpret sketches, drawings, reports, and evaluations
- Ability to travel (up to 40%) and work in the field
- Ability to work in confined spaces, operate and work in mobile elevated work platforms, work at elevation up to 11,000’, and be on your feet for full shifts
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering, Master’s degree or higher a plus
- Licensed as Professional Engineer and/or Professional Geologist in the State of Colorado or ability to obtain Colorado Licensure within 6-months
- 5-10 years Minimum of applicable tunnel and bridge inspection and/or design experience
- Successful completion of required FHWA-NHI courses to qualify as certified NTIS/NBIS team leader
Typical office environment includes working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
