Structural Technologist

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Ability to work independently, and as part of a multidiscipline group.
• Strong time management and communication skills are required.
• Knowledge of structural and building systems and detailing of structural elements and connections in wood, steel, concrete and masonry.
• Strong working knowledge of recent versions of AutoCAD and Revit, including cloud-based platforms; and how they are applied within the built environment.
• Working knowledge of Building Information Modeling.
• Able to read structural and architecture drawings and familiar with general design and construction practices in North America.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to communicate in English and French is considered an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Security clearance is considered an asset.

Education and Experience

• Buildings Technology Diploma from a recognized technical school (preferably focusing on Civil Engineering Technology Program with a drive towards Revit modelling and drafting of structures.
• Minimum 5 years of post-graduation experience in structural design environment.
• Experience in drafting and design of buildings related projects including commercial, institutional, and industrial is preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and occasional field work which may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
