Your Opportunity 

Stantec is seeking a talented Survey Project Manager - Cad Technician to join our Community Development team in Winston Salem, North Carolina This position is a hybrid work model combining management and production, with a focus on NCDOT L&S.

Your Key Responsibilities 

The successful candidate will be performing all aspect of project development from directing field data collection to finished mapping.   Project development includes scoping projects and preparing proposal documents for Stantec. The Survey Project Manager will direct field crew operations by planning daily schedules and determining method of data capture.   This individual will assist field crews as needed and schedule will allow.   The Survey Project Manager will train field crews on surveying and NCDOT procedures and provide instructions to party chiefs to maximize productivity.   This position requires some overnight travel, and the selected candidate will be asked to travel with the field crew or individually as needed.  This individual will be responsible for producing mapping and digital data to clients in MICROSTATION V8i/ORD, and AUTO-CADD.    

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Working Knowledge of AUTO-CADD, Land Desktop, TDS and Carlson data collection software.
  • Proficiency in operating a conventional, robotic total stations, MICROSTATION V8i/ORD to NCDOT Location and Survey Standards.  
  • Working knowledge of 3D scanning and Leica GPS Software is a plus.  
  • Working knowledge of field to finish production of ALTA Surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking for civil engineering projects.          

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as party chief and CADD Technician are required.  
  • A bachelors or associate in Geomatics is preferred but not required.  
  • Licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in North Carolina is preferred but not required. 

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; will require some field work.
