Survey Technician

Your Capabilities and Credentials 

• Requires basic knowledge of local survey laws, surveying principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards, and safety precautions. 
• Demonstrates some experience in survey processing software. 
• Understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of survey work. 
• Working knowledge in relevant technical software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and/or equivalent. 
• Working knowledge of field instrumentation, GPS, and robotic total stations. 
• Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation. 
• Demonstrates strong math skills, including algebra and trigonometry. 
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required. 

Education and Experience 

An associate's degree or technical school diploma/certificate in a related program with a minimum of five years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Land Surveyor in Training certificate issued by the State of California a plus. 

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
