Your Opportunity

Stantec’s Infrastructure Management and Pavement Engineering (IMPE) Group is a recognized leader in pavement engineering, integrated infrastructure /asset management consulting, and related data collection activities. We have vast experience in pavement engineering and management, providing clients with sustainable pavement solutions. We are well recognized through projects successfully completed throughout North America and abroad.

Responsibilities:

Our Waterloo, ON office is seeking a results oriented Pavement Engineering Team Lead who will utilize their interpersonal and managerial skills to grow the IMPE group in Ontario and the GTA, and lead an already strong team, focused on collaboration, integrated design, client service and business success.
In this leadership role, you will be accountable for business development and marketing, client relationship development and management (internal and external to Stantec), the pursuit and capture of projects, technical excellence and quality of project delivery. Our clients range from municipalities to provincial transportation departments and the private sector.
In addition, you will attract, grow and retain staff and mentor future professionals and leaders in your team. Working closely with IMPE group’s management team as well as other leaders within the region, this is an exceptional career opportunity

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • • Graduate of a technical college or degree program
    • At least 10 years’ related experience, including pavement engineering, pavement management and non-destructive testing of pavements
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience with a consulting engineering firm
    • Demonstrated prior leadership experience, sound business acumen, communication and people skills through the management of professional teams in the engineering, architectural, planning or project management fields
    • Previous experience as a Project Manager, having led teams involved in pavement engineering and management
    • Experience working with integrated team environments is essential
    • Well-developed written communication skills in the preparation of technical reports, correspondence and proposals are also important
    • Professional registration (as an engineer or other related discipline) is considered an asset

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field & Licensed Professional Engineer. Minimum of 7-8 years of experience.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
