Nelson Transport Team are looking for a Team Lead to ensure alignment to company strategy, initiatives, vision and culture.  Are you someone keen to step up into a team lead role based in our Nelson office?  You will be aware of the local market and project pipelines that will provide work for your team and keep them fully utilised. One of the key challenges will be to create an inspiring team environment which fosters open communication with clear team deadlines and goals whilst ensuring a robust Safety culture.

 Key elements of the role:

 Team Lead responsibilities

·         Support the South Island Business Leader with monitoring and reporting on the performance of the business unit.

·         Work with the South Island Business Leader in preparing & reviewing our Regional Strategic Plans

·         Contribute to achieving backlog targets specific to your team within your region.

·         Work with partner Team Leaders (TLs) in other regions to drive collaboration and work sharing across the BC.

·         Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the correct staffing levels, and to support needs of other regions where required.

Client Focus/Business Development

  •     Initiate and manage business development opportunities, actively participate in and lead client service through establishing and maintaining strong relationships.
  •       Record all business development opportunities in Pipeline 
  •       Identify key client contacts and support in the development of Account Management Plans as appropriate with Key and Local Account Managers (to be appointed)

 Leadership

       ·         Participate in projects as either Project Manager, Project Technical Leader or other substantive technical or delivery role.  

·         Develop the team’s skills and experience through appropriate training development, mentoring and guidance.

·         Review and monitor staff to ensure performance objectives are being met.

·         Foster a success-oriented environment within the team

After tertiary education, you’ll have at least 7 years’ relevant experience. As well as your technical ability, you’ll have proven skills and experience in developing and maintaining strong client relationships, leading teams and capability in generating positive commercial outcomes in the consulting industry.

The Team Leader position is a function in addition to an employee’s substantive technical/project contribution role.
