Traffic/ Transport Engineer
About the role
Our Transport Planning and Advisory team partners with its clients to provide traffic and transport solutions for the community and we currently seek a Transport Engineer to join our team based in Melbourne. You will be working as part of a dedicated transport team on a range of projects and will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient transport engineering services.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Analyse traffic and parking data using Excel and SIDRA Intersection modelling.
Prepare traffic and transport impact assessments for a range of private and public projects.
Undertake site inspections and gather base information on road environment, traffic and road safety observation, parking inventories and facilities etc.
Assess and provide design advice for intersection and parking layouts and site access points.
Obtain and assess crash data.
Undertake road safety assessments.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline
2-4 years’ experience working within a traffic and transport engineering capacity and familiarity with appropriate analytical software packages such as SIDRA.
Excellent communication skills to strongly, confidently and succinctly present traffic and transport issues and results of analysis to a wide audience.
Experience of working in a consulting environment or for local/ state government in a similar role.
A good working knowledge of best practice standards, guidelines, current trends and legislation in order to deliver innovative and practical traffic and transport solutions.
A positive mindset that seeks to learn and develop technical skills to become a specialist.
