Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong oral and written communication skills a must
  • Self-motivated and highly organized
  • Direct experience in transit planning (i.e., TDPs, BRT, short-range transit plans, CTSPs, FTA funding, transit policy, Mobility Hubs, microtransit, etc.)
  • Comprehensive approach to challenges and problem-solving
  • Experience managing multiple transportation projects, and maintaining an organized project file environment
  • Effective in building and maintaining client relationships
  • Strong research skills and open to feedback
  • Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite
  • Working knowledge and experience using ArcGIS software platforms is preferred
  • Working knowledge or experience with Adobe Creative Suite software such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator is preferred
  • Adaptive to new software programs and web platforms (continual learner)

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Planning, Engineering, Environmental or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience.
  • The ideal candidate is familiar with transit serving planning, including FTA funding and grant programs.
  • Experience in transit planning to include, but not limited to Transit Development Plans, Short-Range Transit plans, transit facilities, intermodal facility planning, etc.

Preferred:

  • Prefer AICP, GISP, PTOE, or P.E. Certification.

Typical office environment working with computers. Some travel may be required, such as attending or facilitating public meetings, or project coordination meetings with agencies or clients. May occasionally visit study areas, construction sites and/or be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions.
