Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills are a must.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interest and preferably experience in transit, particularly transit operations or service planning.
- Ability to think creatively, work independently and deliver high quality work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a team environment, synthesize problems, and communicate point of view and analytical results.
- Time management - working on multiple projects at once/juggling multiple competing priorities.
- Knowledge of transportation planning theories, major trends in transportation planning, specifically public transit, microtransit, shared mobility services, micromobility.
- Knowledge of zero-emission technologies (like battery electric and hydrogen) and their applications in public transportation systems.
- Public speaking, preparing and presenting materials for public outreach and engagement.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Intermediate to advanced GIS skills.
- Must have a good driving record and valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university in planning, transportation planning, public administration, engineering, or another related field. Master’s degree desired, not required.
- 3 years’ experience in planning, transportation planning, related work for a Transit Advisory Analyst Position.
- 4 years’ experience in planning, transportation planning, related work for a Transit Advisory Consultant Position.
- A background in Urban Planning with a transit specialization is preferred.
- Work experience in transit environment or agency is considered a strong asset.
- Experience working with zero-emission vehicles and technologies desired, not required.
- Experience compiling data, executing complex data analysis through Excel or other similar tools.
- Experience working with large datasets.
- Experience with compiling, writing, and revising reports for public audiences. Must be able to demonstrate ability to communicate complex/technical ideas in a clear, easily understandable manner.

Typical office environment includes working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Travel is required, such as delivering plans or documents to reviewing agencies or clients or to attend meetings. May occasionally visit study areas, construction sites and/or be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions.
