Transmission Line Designer

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Familiarity with PLS-CADD software
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation
• Experience with GIS mapping is an asset.
• Familiar with North American overhead power line industry standards
• Experience developing design drawings for transmission or distribution project
• Sound understanding of project management systems.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in teams.
• Time-management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong interest in developing new skills and career advancement.
• Good communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate project issues with the project team and clients.
• Organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.

Education and Experience

• Structural, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree from a recognized university.
• Registered with the Engineering Provincial Association
• Minimum 3 year of overhead power line (transmission or distribution) design and engineering experience within utilities, EPC or consulting organizations.
