The opportunity | Ko te āheinga

      We’re looking for a credible, authentic, and people‑focused leader to take our well established Queenstown Transportation business to the next

     stage of growth. 

 

      This is a senior leadership role with influence. You’ll lead a talented local team, strengthen trusted client relationships, and help shape transportation

      outcomes across the Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago districts—while staying connected to a strong national cohort of Transportation Leaders

      across Aotearoa.

 

      You’ll balance technical excellence, commercial insight, and inclusive leadership, building both a thriving business and a high‑performing team

      culture.

 

Your impact will include:

·        Growing Stantec’s Transportation business across the public and private sectors in Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago.

·        Providing technical and commercial leadership to the Queenstown Transportation team.

·        Delivering meaningful local and national project work within your technical discipline (e.g. Geometric Design, Contract Management, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering).

·        Building, leading, and sustaining a strong, inclusive, and engaged team culture.

·        Coaching and developing people to help them reach their full potential.

·        Building trusted, long‑term relationships with clients and partners across the Otago region and beyond.

·        Collaborating closely with Transportation Leaders across Stantec’s New Zealand business to share capability, insight, and opportunity.

You may already be a people leader—or a high‑performing technical professional ready to step into a broader leadership role.

 

You bring:

 

·        A strong understanding of the transportation and/or infrastructure market, with experience delivering projects in public and/or private sectors.

·        Local or regional knowledge, paired with the confidence to engage nationally across our Transportation Leadership group.

·        A sound technical background in Contract Management, Road Design, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering. Our works span the lifecycle of projects and as such capabilities in any of planning, design and delivery or construction management are of equal value.
