Our Winnipeg team is looking for a Transportation Structures Technologist!
Your Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of preliminary and detailed structural design drawings for bridges, culverts and other transportation structures
- Assist project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design (CADD design) of transportation structures
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, architects and technical and administrative support staff
- Perform inspections of existing bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures
- Prepare reports, proposals, contract specifications, presentation materials and calculation of quantities
- Potential for construction inspection and field review for new construction or rehabilitation of transportation structures including shop drawing review
- Work within assigned project budgets and schedules
- Business travel upon request
- Other duties, as assigned
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, and experience with Civil 3D and MicroStation would be an asset
- Bridge inspection experience (formal training in OSIM Inspection is considered an asset)
- Knowledge relevant to Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure drawing standards is considered an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a team environment
- Interest in working both in an office and field environment
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
Education and Experience
Diploma from a Technical or Technologist program in Structural Engineering
Minimum 4 years experience in a similar role, preferably within an engineering consulting firm
Eligible to be certified as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)
The position will primarily work in an office setting; and may require some fieldwork.
