If you are in your second or third year of study at university studying Computer Science, Data Science or Mathematics or related qualifications then we want you to apply for an internship with Stantec. This is the perfect opportunity to work across an exciting and broad range of projects!

Scope of work
This internship with the Dunedin Transportation Team offers a unique opportunity to gain some practical experience in a professional office environment in central Dunedin.
Typical tasks could include:
- Working with SQL, Python, HTML/JS/CSS and Node.js - some experience would help
- Also having ML and AI experience, specifically LLMs and developing RAG pipelines or using MCPs
- Problem solving with real examples
Additionally, you may have opportunities to support other disciplines within the wider Dunedin Stantec Team, including water, structural, and geotechnical engineering. Collaboration across disciplines is encouraged on various projects, providing a well-rounded learning experience.
This role will allow you to develop further understanding of the transport sector and other related disciplines. It offers valuable exposure to real-world projects, enabling you to enhance your technical skills and gain insight into the multifaceted nature of a large consultancy.

Who can apply
To be eligible to apply you must:
- Be in your second or third year of study
- Preferably have a full clean current driving licence
- Studying Computer Science, Data Science or Mathematics
- Must have a level of R experience
- Able to commence work from 24th November 2025 to 13th February 2026 - (some flexibility)
