Technical expertise in all relevant areas of design and understanding of various design methods.

Demonstrated effectiveness in building and maintaining client relationships. Proven ability to translate those relationships into winning opportunities

Ability to communicate effectively, develop strong internal relationships, and foster a culture of collaboration.

Thorough understanding of codes, legal, and design requirements, with significant local jurisdictional experience and established contacts.

Mastery of project management.

Proficiency in drafting/design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat.Education and Experience
The minimum education requirement is a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in architecture, planning, urban design, landscape architecture, or a related field. Prefer APA, AIA, or PLA certification. Minimum of 10 years of experience.
You will work in a typical office setting, much of the time with computers. Some travel will be required for such tasks as delivering and presenting plans or documents to reviewing agencies or clients; attending client or public meetings; attending conferences to make presentations or participate in forums; and participating in internal meetings of key Urban Places leadership focused on strategy and business development. May occasionally visit study areas, construction sites, and/or be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions.
