Vertical Transportation (VT) Consultant
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Vertical Transportation (VT) Consultant to be based in either our Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane office.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person who has experience working in the Vertical Transportation industry to join Stantec and participate on a wide range of project types including commercial, retail, healthcare, educational and industrial. You will ideally have a strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and controls systems for elevators, escalators and moving walks. Knowledge of installation methodology for vertical transportation systems would be a distinct advantage.

What you’ll be doing:
- Design and engineering of Vertical transportation systems for a variety of projects.
- Work collaboratively with other Engineers and Project Engineers to represent the Company and interact with clients, contractors and other project team members.
- Collaborate with the design team on the preparation of fee proposals and review of associated project conditions of contract
- Perform design calculations including Elevate for lift designs
- Select appropriate VT equipment for use in buildings
- Report writing including project briefs and design reports
- Preparation of VT project specifications and tender documents
- Site Inspections
- Inspection of existing VT installations and condition reports
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong technical knowledge of vertical transportation systems to primarily include elevators, escalators, moving walks. Knowledge of other vertical transportation systems like dumbwaiters, platform lifts and hoists will be also highly regarded
- Experience in using Peters Research Elevate software or similar for VT simulations will be highly regarded
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to develop strong relationships with team members and clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in a similar client facing role is highly desirable
