Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Sound understanding of water, environmental principles, and engineering concepts, including hydraulics and hydrology.
  • Commitment to client satisfaction and the delivery of high-quality work products.
  • Basic experience with industry-standard hydraulic/hydrologic modelling tools, including InfoWorks CS/ICM, MIKE Suite, PCSWMM, WaterCAD, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, AutoCAD, and/or Civil 3D.
  • Experience analyzing and managing data, interpreting hydraulic model results and producing clear visuals to demonstrate results.
  • Experience in developing (building), calibrating and interpreting hydraulic/hydrologic models.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, responsibilities and projects and adjust to changing demands.
  • Highly skilled in common desktop packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to produce robust technical writing pieces (e.g. reports or proposals).
  • Flexibility to work beyond regular business hours when needed.
  • Experience with the following would be considered an asset:
  • Application of AI to engineering and modelling tasks
  • Knowledge of open-source data relevant to hydrologic and hydraulic modelling
  • Coding relevant to hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and GIS/data processing
  • Knowledge of trends and technologies in modelling and water resources engineering.
  • Previous experience working with municipalities, utility owners or in engineering consulting.
  • A strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure design and construction.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university, preferably in the water resources, and/or environmental disciplines.
  • Registered with APEGA as an EIT or P.Eng. (or eligible to register)
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated related experience.

Work Environment

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.
