Your Opportunity

The role of a Civil EIT is to work as a team member on small and large projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. The Civil EIT will work under close supervision of a Senior Engineer to develop skills in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering systems or products for a project.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Stormwater management, drainage, and erosion & sediment control analysis and design tasks for transportation and environmental projects and studies, including closed/open drainage systems, environmental site design, ponds, stream restoration, flood studies, and E&SC controls.
  • Provide technical assistance to the transportation and environmental teams in areas of hydrologic, hydraulic, scour, and water quality design and analyses.
  • Independently manage and perform hydrologic and hydraulic design tasks, reports, and studies.
  • Assist in plan development and cost estimating.
  • Maintain adherence to project schedules and milestones.
  • Participate in field work as needed.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

The candidate must have these basic qualifications/requirements:
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe, and Bluebeam.

•    Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience including but not limited to TR-55, TR-20, PC-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, or similar. 
•    Proficient using Bentley CAD programs including MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, and ProjectWise.
•    Experience working for state, county, and municipal transportation agencies, preferably in the Mid-Atlantic region.
•    Familiarity with CAD software including AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley legacy products such as Inroads or GeoPak.
•    Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems software.

Education and Experience

•    Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering from an accredited college or university.
•    Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) registration in Maryland, Virginia, and/or District of Columbia; or ability to obtain E.I.T. within six months of employment.
•    0-2 years’ experience in water resources design and analysis for a professional engineering firm.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
