Education, Experience, and Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in water resources engineering, civil/environmental engineering, hydrology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 7 – 10 years of increasing responsibility in the execution of complex water resources planning and management projects for public/government sector clients; areas of specialty may include integrated water management studies, conjunctive use and water banking, water supply reliability studies, water transfers, demand management and shortage policies, water conservation, etc.
  • Professional certification/registration (PE, PH, etc.) in appropriate area of expertise preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with and understanding of California water policies, programs, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including ability to convey complex issues to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience working with stakeholders, the environmental community, and the public.
  • Familiarity with use of analytical tools and/or interpretation of outputs (LSPC, HSPF, CalSim/WRIMS, WEAP, MODFLOW, IWFM, IMPLAN, HEC-RAS, etc.) and other analytical methods and decision-making frameworks to support water resources evaluations.
  • Experience incorporating NEPA/CEQA or other regulatory compliance processes into traditional planning processes and contributing to the preparation of environmental review documents.
